 15 THINGS.....

15 THINGS THAT IT TOOK ME ALMOST 40 YEARS TO LEARN:

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings."

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

You should not confuse your career with your life.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

Never lick a steak knife.

The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

You should never say anything to a woman, that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant u nless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

A person, who is nice to you, but rude to a waiter, is not a nice person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

Your friends love you anyway.

Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

Thought for the day: (MY PERSONAL FAVORITE!)
Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

 words from Journey....

Baby don't understand why we just can't hold on to each others hands
this time might be the last I fear unless I make it all to clear
I need you so ... can't let you go ... noo oh

So take these broken wings and learn to fly again
learn to live so free and when we hear the voices sing
the book of love will open up and let us in

take these broken wings ...

Baby end tonight we can take what was wrong
and make it right ... cause baby it's all i know
that your half of the flesh and blood that makes me whole
makes me whole . i need you so baby i need you so

So take these broken wings and learn to fly again
learn to live so free and when we hear the voices sing
the book of love will open up and let us in

Take these broken wings you've got to learn to fly
learn to lift and love so free
and when we hear the voices sing the book of love will open
up for us and let us in

So take these broken wings and fly away
learn to live enough for another day
lets fly lets fly

Hello my friend we meet again
It's been a while where should
we begin? feels like forever
Within my heart are memories
Of perfect love that you gave to me
I remember

When you are with me
I'm free, I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice

We've seen our share of ups and downs
Oh how quickly life can turn around in
an instant
It feels so good to reunite
Within yourself and within your mind
Let's find peace there

When you are with me
I'm free, I'm careless, I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice
I just want to say hello again

good grief this site is slow!!

......mmm....a big cup of hot steaming coffee. It'll take a BIG cup of coffee to discuss everything, and is there a better way to chat about anything than over a steaming mug of freshly brewed goodness? Coffee...you are so wonderful, so warm, so giving of your caffeine to my bloodstream...what a good friend...anyway, I digress.

So, what's up? Well, there are two worlds at play here - house and head. What's going on in the house? It's CRAZY man! I've been travelling a little this week, hockey season has turned into "playoff season" and the month of February is looking awfully busy, work is nuts, but what else is new...... (take a sip of Joe) I don't want to talk about it anymore...

Then, there's what's going on in the head. (Take another sip) Again, so many topics that I have been wanting to go off on lately, that it's baffling where to start. (take a good, long pull) ' Tomorrow is the 3rd anniversary of my dad's passing. I re-live every moment of that whole week when this time of year comes around.....and although every year gets a little less painful, I do still think of him and the journey's he took me on from childhood to my own religious foundation, to actual journies across this country, to his final journey living with cancer...... I think of my 7 siblings at this time and wonder what they are thinking right now.  I look at my mother, the one he was married to for 54 years and wonder how much she misses him.....

Actually, what has been occupying much of my head time lately are the blissful thoughts of gardening. It was minus 52 with the windchill here this past week, luckily I was on the other side of the country when it hit, but I did get to feel the minus 40 temperatures upon my return home.  The best way to cope is to think that in just a few short months, we'll be cutting the lawn and tilling the garden and planting the flowers...... yep, just a few more months..........

As we finish our cup together, let me take this opportunity to reiterate a few long standing truths...politics suck, the superbowl is far too commercialized, Britney still needs help, the writer strike is a GOOD thing, winter is a long but oh-so-necessary season, and it's good to be alive today!!

Anyway, what would you like to say over a hot cup of coffee?

 guess how cold cold is????

It's so cold here, the air is a thick ice fog.

It doesn't happen alot - but it happens at least once a year.

Not only is it FREEZING cold...... but it's extremely windy, which makes it twice as bad!

We're hearing things like "lows of minus 52" right now........

Baby, it's cold outside!!!
